The Canteen Fund from Loreburn Street Police Station, Dumfries recently presented Nith Inshore Rescue with a cheque for £1000
Sergeant Graeme Stitt from the Canteen Committee said “Over the past few years the Canteen Committee has managed to raise some funds and we felt that we would like to donate some money to local charities who give up a great deal of their free time into assisting Police Scotland. The Nith Inshore Rescue Team have worked alongside Police over many years and have proven to be of great assistance at many incidents.”
Ian Cowie from the Nith Inshore Rescue said “We rely wholly on donations and simply could not operate without the support of our local community. We are extremely grateful to the Police in Dumfries for their generosity which helps our dedicated volunteers maintain a vital rescue service 24/7.”
