Drugs with an estimated street value of £300,000 have been recovered in two separate vehicle stops in Dumfries and Galloway.
Road policing officers stopped a grey Toyota Avensis around 11.10am on Saturday, 9 May, 2020 on the A74(M) northbound carriageway near junction 15 at Moffat. Further enquiries led them to discover drugs within the car, believed to be cannabis, with a maximum street value of £200,000.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to the incident and appeared at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday. He has since been remanded in custody.
The second incident involved a grey Ford Focus around 12.50pm on Monday, 11 May, 2020 on the A74(M) near junction 16 at Johnstonbridge. Drugs, again believed to be cannabis, were recovered with a maximum street value of £100,000.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to the incident and has also been remanded in custody following a court appearance on Tuesday.
