Drunken A75 Lorry Driver Gets 3 Months Jail

At about 21.45 hours on Monday 28th August 2017 police officers on patrol observed a 40 tonne HGV driving on the A75 near Newton Stewart. The HGV was seen to repeatedly cross the centre white line on the A75 in a dangerous manner.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be three and a half times over the drink drive limit. The driver then attempted to fight with police and resisted arrest.

The driver, Roy Cullen aged 45, appeared at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Tuesday 29th August 2017 and was jailed for 3 months. He was also banned from driving for 3 years and fined £1600.
