POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES TO DUMFRIES DOG ATTACK

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses in relation to a dog attack which took place in the Rankine Avenue area of Dumfries about 4pm on Saturday afternoon.

A border collie dog which was being walked by its owner was attacked by a staffordshire terrier type dog which was being walked by a woman in her fifties, dressed in white clothing.

As a result of the attack, the border collie sustained a number of bite marks to the legs and face, and required stitches.
