Emergency Services Called Out For River Nith Rescue

Emergency Services were called out earlier this evening 22nd of August 2017 to search the River Nith after a report had been issued of a missing female from the Lincluden area.

Nith inshore rescue was launched at 6.00pm and a search was conducted from the Greensands up the River Nith then onto the River Cairn.

A Spokesperson for Nith Inshore rescue Stated “A search was carried out past The Abbey where we wer joined by Dumfries Galloway Police Division helicopter. A search was then conducted south where the missing female was spotted by the helicopter.

Female rendered assistance by Police and Annan Coastguard Rescue TeamHM Coastguard Kirkcudbright Search and Rescue. “

The Police reported at 9.00pm that Missing Person has been found safe and well. Thank you for your help and shares
