EMERGENCY SERVICES DEAL WITH SECOND A74(M) COLLISION

EMERGENCY SERVICES had to close the A74 (M) in Dumfries and Galloway twice  within 12 hours as they dealt with a second collision betwen Junctions 19 and 21. 

Emergency services worked right through the night after a fatal road crash closed both sides of the A74(M) at J20 Eaglesfield – J19 Ecclefechan during the night of Wednesday May 1st 2019. As the road was being opened again at 6.50am this morning Thursday May 2nd, Emergency services had to close the Northbound side almost instantly as a collision between a Van and HGV occured.

Traffic Scotland reported the road was closed again at J21 Kirkpatrick-Fleming and that it will be closed for some time following a serious RTC involving a van & HGV.

Collision Investigation work has been taking place and the vehicles have now been removed.

Traffic Scotland Announced the road is now fully open at 12.27pm Thursday 2nd of May.
