POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESS TO FATAL A75 ROAD CRASH – CREETOWN

A man driving a Ford Ranger pickup, towing a trailer with a number of dogs within it, has died and a 43-year-old woman, who was driving a silver Suzuki Swift was seriously injured, when the vehicles they were driving were in collision with a Scania lorry on the A75 near Castlecary Holiday Park at Creetown this morning, Saturday, 7 July 2018.

Police Scotland officers are appealing for information following the collision which occurred around 2.45 am.

The man driving the pickup has yet to be identified.

The 43-year-old woman was airlifted by an air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious back injuries. A 14-year girl who was a passenger in the Suzuki Swift was uninjured.

The driver of the lorry, a 25-year-old man, was uninjured.

Sergeant Bob McNay at Lockerbie Police Office is appealing for anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may witnessed the collision or have related dashcam footage to contact him via 101 – incident 0723/07/2018 refers.
