Gretna School Run Mum Five Times Over Drink Driving Limit

A woman was caught by police to be allegedly five times over the drink driving limit while picking her child up on the afternoon school run at Gretna, Dumfries and Galloway Yesterday.

About 3:15pm on 20th April, Police officers at Gretna responded to reports the driver of a white Nissan Juke had crashed into a hedge next to Gretna Primary School having only just collected their child from the school.

The female driver, aged 45 failed to stop at the scene and was traced a short time later by Police at her home address. She was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and subsequently charged in relation to the incident.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
