INJURED PENSIONER DIES IN HOSPITAL AFTER A75 COLLISION

A 79 year-old local man that was critically injured after being involved in a three vehicle crash on the A75 at 3.45pm on Friday 25 October, sadly passed away in hospital Sunday 27 October 2019.

Police have nemed the man as Alexander O’Haire of Braco Farm, Shawhead, Dumfries.

Alexander was the driver of a Volkswagen Beetle, that was involved in a 3 vehicle crash on A75 Gretna to Stranraer Road at the junction leading to Arnmannoch,and was receiving treatment at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing. Sergeant Wayne Carnochan of the Road Policing Unit is re-appealing to any witnesses to the crash, or anyone driving on the road around the time of the crash who has dash-cam fitted to come forward.
