Witness Appeal Launched After 61 Year Old Motorcyclist Dies In A76 Collision

A man has died following a road traffic crash on the A76 near to Dumfries on Saturday 6th October.

Around 4.20 pm, James Dalkin (61) from the Larkhall area, was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle north on the A76 at Dumfries when the motorcycle was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

Mr Dalkin was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary but died a short time after admission. Relatives are aware and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. The 38-year-old male driver of the other vehicle involved was uninjured.

Sergeant Jonny Edgar at the Road Policing Unit in Dumfries is appealing for witnesses to the crash and can be contacted via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 2809 of 6 October 2018.
