POLICE Officers in Dumfries and Galloway are appealing for information following a theft by housebreaking to a property in Dumfries.
Sometime between mid-October and Tuesday, 3 November, 2020 entry was forced to a property on Portland Drive and a quantity of jewellery and a five-figure sum of cash was stolen.
Detective Sergeant Colin McKinstry, of Dumfries CID, said: “This has been a horrendous crime in which a 75-year-old man has suffered significant financial and sentimental loss.
“Enquiries are underway to establish exactly when the crime occurred and I am seeking help from local residents who may have seen any suspicious activity at the address over the course of the last three weeks. In particular, anyone who has seen any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the vicinity of the address in recent weeks is urged to contact police.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2192 of 3 November or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
