Police Scotland officers are appealing for witnesses to help trace the driver of a vehicle which struck and killed a working collie on the B6357 road between Hollee and Irvington and then failed to stop after the collision. The collision happened at around 1015 hours on Wednesday 29 June 2016 while a farmer was moving cows in the area and the dog, an eight year old Border collie was struck and killed by a black coloured vehicle which is described as being a black coloured Mitsubishi pick-up type vehicle with part of the registration number being SB10. The driver stopped briefly then drove off.
Constable Emma-Jayne Neylon at Langholm said “this was a horrific incident for the farmer to witness made worse by the driver failing to stop after the crash. The driver of the pick-up is described as being male, in his late 20s, white, medium build with a bit of a belly, about 6′ tall. short brown hair and a beard. We ask that anyone who can help us trace the driver of this vehicle to get in touch through 101, and indeed would ask that the driver of the vehicle himself get in touch with us regarding the incident.”
