Police Probe Horse Theft – Stranraer

POLICE OFFICERS carrying out enquiries in relation to a theft of a horse from a field off Clashmahew Road, Stranraer Industrial Estate, between 5.45 pm on Sunday and 9 am on Monday.

A Police Spokesperson Announced on the D&G Police Division Facebook page today “The owner was alerted at 9 am on Monday that his horses were out the field and the gate was open.
The owner immediately went to check, and found the horses were back in the field, except one.
He found the entrance gate was being propped up with a plank of wood and the padlock had been removed.
On checking the stable of the missing horse, he found it to be empty and discovered the gate into the stable had been smashed.
After a thorough check of the yard and field, all other horses were accounted for apart from one.
The horse is described as followed:-
Name – Amerron Flash (stable name Flash)
Height – about 14.2 hands
Age – 17 years
Breed – Welsh Section D Cob
Colour – Chestnut
Markings – white blaze on head, fore near side white sock above fetlock, fore off side white stocking to below the knee, hind near side white stocking to below hock and hind off side white stocking to below hock.
Flash is a stallion and is chipped.
There is a concern for the safety and well being of Flash as he is currently under the care of Academy Vets.
