POLICE PROBE SPATE OF VEHICLE VANDALISM – DUMFRIES

Police in Dumfries have launched appeals for witnesses to two seperate cases of vandalism to vehicles in Dumfries that occured recently.

In the first appeal posted on the Dumfries and Galloway Police Division facebook page the police state “At about 3 pm on Saturday 15th February a woman parked her car; a dark blue Vauxhall Corsa; on Buccleuch Street, Dumfries next to the council offices. The Corsa was parked in the space in front of the bus stop, facing in the direction of Greyfriars Church. About 2.30 am on Sunday 16th February the woman returned to the car and found the driver’s side wing mirror to be damaged.”

In the second post Police are appealing for witnesses after a white Ford Transit Van was vandalised between 4.30 pm on Monday 17th February and 7.30 am on Tuesday 18th February on Smiths Place, Ryedale, Dumfries where the windscreen was damaged.

 

A police spokesperson stated “if you saw or heard anything suspicious in relation to this incident please contact Police Scotland on 101.”
