As Part of Victory in Europe 70th Anniversary Commemoration The Royal Burgh of Sanquhar and District Council held a Torchlit Parade.
On Saturday May the 9th the Sanquhar Silver Band entertained the crowd before the parade was lead by Upper Nithsdale Youth Pipe Band from Queensberry Square Sanquhar down the high street then up half way to the Matthew’s Folly . Where a small bonfire was held as a Beacon .
