Police Issue E-fit Image Of Missing Wigtown Pensioner As Search Continues

It has been almost 6 weeks since 74-year-old missing man, Gavin Tait was last seen in Wigtown, near Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway. A multi- agency search including dogs, Mountain Rescue teams and Drones is being carried out. 

A Police Spokesperson stated on Facebook today, April the 23rd 2019 “It’s now been over 5 weeks since he was last seen. Today’s land and air search focused on the baldoon airfield near Wigtown.
Gavin is described as reclusive and not well known in his local community. During the investigation we have been unable to obtain a recent photos of him, as such, we are now releasing this e-fit of Gavin, which is described as having a good likeness to him.
Extensive searches have taken place in Wigtown over the last few weeks and we continue to focus our searches in and around the town. Officers are still keen to speak to anyone who saw a man walking on the B733 between Wigtown and Kirkcowan at 19:30 on 15 March.
