Second Man Arrested In Connection To Langholm Bank Raid

Following Police Scotland’s  enquires into the Langholm bank raid that took place in November 2016, they have arrested and charged a second man in connection with the incident.

At around 01.40am on Friday 11 November 2016 police recieved  reports that the sound of an explosion had been heard in the area of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Langholm. On attendance officers found that the bank’s security had been overcome and that the ATM cash machine had been violated. Enquiries were commenced and a short time later a green coloured Land Rover was found burning on the B6318 road about three miles south of Skippers Bridge, Langholm. The fire was extinguished by the Fire and Rescue Service. A Major police investigation followed.

David Hanley (26) from County Durham has been arrested in connection with the robbery and appeared at Dumfries Sheriff Court, He was remanded in custody
