Come along to the Ewart Library this Saturday (8 November) to take a trip back to old school days at the Maxwellton Benedictine Convent School with local author, Elizabeth West.
Elizabeth will be on hand to sign her new book and will be accompanied by some of her former school colleagues who will sing some school songs.
The book covers the early history of the founding of the school. There are many photographs in the book most of which have been donated from former pupils which show what life was like at the Convent School.
Chairman of Community and Customer Services Committee Councillor Tom McAughtrie said ahead of the signing; “This book is of local interest and will be a great look-back in time to when the Convent School was in use. It is full of photographs of local folk and a thoroughly interesting read.”
The event will run from 2pm to 3pm on Saturday 8 November.
