POLICE Officers are investigating the report of the theft of a painting depicting the story of Tam O’ Shanter. The painting was stolen from the Tavern Bar which was set up at The Eden Festival at Raehills near Moffat and was taken sometime between Friday 7 and Saturday 8 June 2019.
Constable Fiona Sword said “The painting was screwed to the wall and was in a mahogany wooden frame and is about 36″ x 17″ in size. When last valued the painting was worth in the region of £1000. Clearly the Tavern Bar was a busy place during the Eden Festival and we are appealing to anyone with any information about this theft to call police on the 101 number quoting the reference PDG 0129130619″
