Police Probe Theft Of £18,000 Pickup Truck – Amisfield

Officers are appealing for help in relation to the theft of a blue coloured Toyota Hilux with the registration number R50SWT from a outside a cottage just north of Amisfield, Dumfries.

The vehicle, which is valued at around £18,000 was stolen sometime in the early hours of Saturday 18 August 2018. The cottage where the vehicle was stolen from was also entered and two ladies’ handbags were stolen. The bags contained small amounts of cash, debit and credit cards and other personal items. The cottage sits at the side of the A701 just north of the village of Amisfield.

Constable Stephen Dickson said, “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in or around the Amisfield area in the early ours of Saturday morning. The A701 road which passes the cottage was closed at the time for repairs. Any sightings of the vehicle after it was stolen would also be helpful.
