Police Officers in Lockerbie are investigating another spate of thefts from vans in the town. Overnight Thursday 25/Friday 26 October 2018 a Ford Transit tipper van parked in Leonard Crescent was broken into and an impact driver and a Stihl saw were stolen.
Similarly a Peugeot Partner van, again parked in Leonard Crescent that night was broken into, and a Stihl strimmer and two hedge cutters were stolen. A Toyota Hilux pickup which was parked in Margaret Drive was also broken into, however while nothing appears to have been stolen, about £150 worth of damage was caused to the vehicle.
Constable Lisa Duff said “Once again we have been hit by a spate of tool thefts. We are carrying out door to door enquiries in the area and want to hear from anyone who may have any information about these thefts, or who is responsible for them. The value of the thefts is again into the thousands of pounds. Anyone who can help is asked to call us on the 101 number and should quote the reference number 0869 of 26/10.”
