£8000 WORTH OF TOOLS STOLEN FROM MOFFAT BUILDING SITE

POLICE Officers in Moffat are investigating two break-ins which were reported to police on Monday 8th October. In the first, a report was received that a break-in had occurred at the construction site which is situated on the site of the old Moffat Academy.

The break-in happened sometime overnight between Sunday 7th and Monday 8th October. Tools appear to have been the target with over £8000 worth stolen, including a Honda generator, a Makita cordless saw, De Walt drill sets a laser level, and a television.

In a second report, a break-in was reported at a house in Mearsdale Park in the town. This break-in happened sometime between Tuesday 25th September and Monday 8th October. At this stage it is not know what has been stolen from the house.

Constable Alison Wallace said, “At this stage we are unsure whether the two break-ins are linked. Tools appear to have been targeted at the Moffat Academy break-in.
