Two Men Caught With £250,000 Worth Of Cannabis Appear In Dumfries Court

Police Scotland can confirm that two men have been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences following a cannabis recovery worth an estimated £250,000.

Officers from Dumfries Road Policing Unit stopped a Toyota Corolla car on the M74 northbound, at junction 18 near Lockerbie, around 11.45am on Tuesday, 14 July, 2020.

Following a search of the vehicle, 25 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of £250,000 was recovered.

Two men aged 42 and and 17 have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and appeared in Dumfries Sheriff Court today Wednesday, 15 July, 2020.

A full report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Dean Little, of Dumfries CID, said: “This recovery shows our commitment to disrupting the supply of drugs in our communities.
“We will continue to work to track down those involved in this type of behaviour. However, we rely on information from the public to assist us in preventing drugs reaching our streets and any intelligence can help us take action.
