Police have named two men from Ayrshire who have died following a road crash in Dumfries and Galloway on Friday 30 September 2016.
Around 1040 hours, a red Ford Fiesta travelling north on the A713 at Drumjohn, near Carsphairn, was in collision with a white Asda delivery van travelling south.
The 46 year old van driver was taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital where he died a short time later. The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 50 year old man, died at the scene.
We can confirm the names as 46 year old Scott Kennedy from Ayrshire and 50 year old Antony Sztuka, also from Ayrshire.
The A713 was re-opened around 1845 hours.
Sergeant Billy McEwan, Road Policing Unit, Stranraer Police Office, said:
“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of the time of the crash to contact police.
“We know from witnesses already spoken to that there was a white flat-bed pickup truck – the size of a transit van – on the road at the time of the crash. We are very keen to speak to the driver as he or she may have information that could prove vital to the investigation.
“Information can be passed to officers at the Road Policing department at Stranraer Police Office via 101.”
