Police Scotland report that two people have been killed in a second collision within a few miles and hours of an earlier fatel crash on the A74(M) between Junctions 19 and 21 in Dumfries and Galloway.
A police spokesperson stated “At around 6.15am today, Thursday 2 May 2019. a two vehicle road traffic collision happened on the northbound carriageway of the A74(M) between Junctions 20 and 21. An articulated lorry and a van were in collision. As a result, the 57 year old male driver of the van and his 17 year old male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the articulated lorry was uninjured. The road was closed to allow for a full crash scene investigation to take place and diversions were put in place, however is now fully open again.”
