VAN DELIBERATELY SET ON FIRE IN DUMFRIES CAR PARK

Police Scotland is treating as suspicious a fire which seriously damaged a white coloured Ford Transit van in the small car park opposite Sunderries Road in Sandside, Dumfries.

The fire was discovered at around 12.20am on Thursday 19 October 2017 when a loud bang was heard from the area. The Fire and Rescue Service were alerted and extinguished the blaze on their arrival. At this stage the fire is being treated as deliberate.

Constable Lawrence Nelson at Dumfries said “we have had reports about a group of people hanging around the area of Sunderries Road/Stakeford Street earlier in the evening and we want to hear from anyone who can help us in this investigation. Callers can contact us at Dumfries on the 101 number.
