Police Probe Spate Of Tool Thefts – Dumfries

Sometime between 10 pm on Wednesday 14th and 6.30 am on Thursday 15th August 2019, a white Renault works van which was parked in Pleasance Cottages, Annan Road in Dumfries was broken into. A large quantity of electrical tools, including drills, screw guns, a grinder, nail guns, a chop saw, a jigsaw and batteries were stolen in the raid. The tools are Makita make and the value is in excess of £7000.

A second theft of tools from a van parked in Gladstone Road in the town has also been reported today.

Constable Bruce Wilson at Dumfries said “These thefts have cleaned the victims out of working tools. We are carrying out door to door enquiries in the locality and are asking anyone who may have been along Annan Road or in Gladstone Road over this period to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious.
These tool would be heavy and it is likely that a vehicle may have been used to remove them from the area.
