POLICE Officers in Dumfries are following a number of positive leads in the investigation to an outbreak of antisocial behaviour and vandalism in the town that started on Halloween Night, Wednesday 31 October 2018 and has continued over the following few evenings.

Since Wednesday night another two incidents of vandalism have been reported. A grey coloured Vauxhall Astra car which was parked in Anwoth Avenue in the town had its windscreen smashed and a mirror smashed, sometime overnight Friday 2/Saturday 3 November 2018. Also in Anwoth Avenue, again overnight Friday/Saturday a white coloured Suzuki Swift car had its windscreen smashed. The value of the damage to both vehicle will total around £750.

Constable Dale McEwan in Dumfries said “It actually defies belief after all the publicity the Halloween Night incidents got that people are still carrying out such acts of pure vandalism. I would urge anyone who has any information about who is involved in this type of behaviour to get in touch with us on the 101 number, and quote the reference number 1957 of 3/11.”
