Police in Annan are appealing for witnesses to an act of sheer vandalism which saw pieces of the rubber matting at the play park in Turnberry Crescent in the town torn up and strewn about.
The vandalism is thought to have happened sometime between Thursday 7 and Friday 15 September 2017.
Constable Sarah Smith at Annan said “we have reports of youths in the play park over this period, causing the damage, however we have no descriptions of them at this stage. I would ask the community to let us know if they have any information about this crime. This is an act of sheer vandalism which defies belief. Not only is the park damaged but the rubber matting is there as a safety measure to stop children becoming injured when playing there, and that safety has now been compromised as a result of this act of stupidity. We can be contacted at Annan on the 101 number, or if anyone wants to pass information anonymously then they can do so thorough Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
