Weekend Spate Of Thefts And Break-ins Across Region

Police Scotland are investigating Several Break-ins and thefts that have happened across the region this weekend, full report below

Theft – Sanquhar

Officers are investigating the theft of a Stihl saw, valued at around £400, from the rear of a Vauxhall van which was parked in Robertson Road in Kelloholm, Sanquhar. The theft occurred sometime overnight Wednesday 24/Thursday 25 January 2018 when the vehicle was broken into.

Detective Constable Mark McLachlan said “we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Robertson Road are overnight Wednesday/Thursday. Callers can contact police at Sanquhar on the 101 number, quoting PDG 0018700118.”

Attempted break-in – Lockerbie

Officers in Lockerbie want to trace two men after an attempted break-in to the Gala Park Stores in Lockerbie. Sometime around 11pm on Friday 26 January 2018 two males, wearing dark jackets with hoods up were seen attempting to break into the Gala Park Stores in Gala Park. The premises were not violated in the attack.

Constable Lee Barnfather at Lockerbie said “we want to trace these two men who were seen at the premises around 11pm. We would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the shop around 11pm on Friday night, especially if they can help us identify these two men, or if they saw or heard anything suspicious. Break-in – Dumfries

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following a break-in at a house in Rotchell Road, Dumfries. The raid took place sometime between Monday 22nd and Friday 26th January 2018 while the owner was away. At this time it appears only a small amount of cash was stolen.

Constable John Donnelly at Dumfries said “once again we see a property which was left unoccupied getting broken into while the occupants were away from home. We are currently carrying out investigations and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious on Rotchell Road this week. Theft of motorcycle – Dumfries

Officers are investigating the theft of a motorcycle from Armour Drive in Dumfries. The motorcycle, a blue coloured Suzuki GSXR750 had the number L934KNM and had the word Blue Angels on the fuel tank, is valued at around £1200.

Constable Julie McQuillan at Dumfries said “the motorcycle was broken down and hadn’t been moved for some time. It appears to have been stolen sometime around Thursday 25 January 2018. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone at the motorcycle which was parked on the road at the time. Callers can contact us on the 101 number, quoting PDG0019140118.”
