Woman Seriously Injured In A75 Crash

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to a one vehicle road traffic collision which happened at around 1705 hours on Tuesday 27 December 2016, on the A75 Dumfries Bypass at the Bloomfield roundabout.

At that time a white coloured Fiat Punto car being driven by a 36 year old woman from Locharbriggs left the road and ended up below the road surface on the centre of the roundabout. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by the Fire and Rescue Service. She was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where she is currently being treated for a head and back injury which is classed as serious.

Constable Stuart Delaney of the Roads Policing Unit said “we are appealing to anyone who was on this stretch of roadway to get in touch with us if they witnessed this crash. Callers can contact us through 101.”
