17 Ramblers turned out for Saturday’s half day walk at Balcary Bay. They enjoyed fabulous weather, good company and even spotted one or two porpoises close to shore.
The wild flowers along the cliff side were just gorgeous at this time of the year and the gorse was scenting the air with coconut . Most of the ramblers ended the walk at Dalbeattie Garden centre where they enjoyed a welcome cuppa. A great day for Caroline’s first outing as a walk leader.
A much smaller group tackled Green Gable in the Lake District on Sunday The climb began in Seathwaite and was completed in perfect weather. The views were stunning . Thanks go to Phil for leading this walk.
Phil would like to remind all walkers that in the event of needing the Mountain Rescue services, location should always be reported to them as a 6 figure grid reference. ‘What three words’ are not reliable.
