Drumlanrig Castle & Country Estate is continuing to establish itself as one of Scotland’s most exceptional and versatile event venues, welcoming an impressive calendar of large-scale external events throughout 2026.
Set within thousands of acres of stunning countryside, the Estate offers a unique combination of heritage, natural beauty, and flexible outdoor space, making it an ideal destination for everything from motorsport spectacles to cultural festivals and endurance challenges.
This year, Drumlanrig is proud to host a diverse range of high-profile events, including the iconic Lombard Rally, the South of Scotland Outdoor Festival, the much-loved Galloway Country Fair, and the adrenaline-fuelled Drumlanrig Offroad Motorsport Festival. Together, these events highlight the Estate’s growing reputation as a go-to destination for organisers seeking a truly memorable setting.
The first large external event in 2026 calendar will be the Lombard Rally, taking place from Saturday 30 May to Sunday 31 May. The Estate will welcome approximately 60 historic rally cars, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience the excitement of classic rallying. Across the weekend, these iconic vehicles will take on a specially designed stage within the Estate grounds, recreating the spirit and atmosphere of legendary rallies. Spectators can enjoy not only the on-track action but also engaging interviews and storytelling from renowned drivers. On Sunday, the experience continues with a static display of classic and sports cars, providing enthusiasts with an up-close look at automotive history.
Tim Nash, organiser of the Lombard Rally said, ‘We are delighted to bring Scotland’s second Lombard Rally Festival to the beautiful surroundings of Drumlanrig Castle, offering not only roads to interest the drivers demonstrating their historic rally cars, but excellent viewing possibilities.”
The estate is also becoming a new venue for The Forest Experience Rally School, “We’re proud to unveil the next chapter of The Forest Experience Rally School. Building on over a decade of authentic rally driving, we now offer an elevated experience at Drumlanrig Castle, where world-class gravel stages meet historic Scottish estate luxury. From expert tuition to corporate events and fully immersive rally experiences, guests can combine adrenaline-fuelled driving with premium accommodation and countryside pursuits. With rallying in Scotland on the rise, there’s never been a better time to get involved,” said Ross Leach Forest Experience Rally School.
Drumlanrig’s ability to host such dynamic and varied events is underpinned by its extensive grounds and well-developed infrastructure, allowing organisers to deliver world-class experiences while preserving the Estate’s natural environment and historic charm.
The Estate’s track record speaks for itself. In recent years, Drumlanrig has successfully hosted globally recognised events such as Extreme E, the internationally acclaimed electric off-road racing series, as well as endurance challenges like Tough Mudder and The Buccleuch Challenge. It has also served as a spectacular backdrop for concerts and music events such as Electric Fields and Absolute Classics, and high-profile filming projects including The Buccaneers.
This breadth of activity demonstrates the Estate’s versatility, not only as a heritage attraction but as a dynamic, modern events venue capable of accommodating audiences, participants, and productions of all scales.
“We are delighted to welcome such a wide range of events to Drumlanrig this year,” said Anna Fergusson, Estate Director. “From motorsport and outdoor festivals to cultural and filming projects, our aim is to provide a truly unique setting that enhances every experience. The diversity of events we host reflects both the flexibility of the Estate and the growing demand for distinctive venues in Scotland.”
